The concept being CrediCar was born in January 2018. We conducted extensive research and commenced prototype development to build, measure and learn our proposition.
In Oct 2018, we were accepted into the NatWest Accelerator where we grew our network and met key players in the banking industry within the RBS group to discuss our business model.
We have since been named Number 4! on NatWest’s Midlands Business Power Index.
In November 2019 we were accepted as a member into Level 39 fintech network. During our time at Level 39 we networked with other fintech founders and gained valuable insight into financial institutions, software development, raising investment and collaboration with other FinTech’s to enhance our proposition.
In January 2019 we secured the appointment of Graham Wheeler (Former CEO VWFS) as a director of CrediCar.
**Graham was offered the role of Chief Executive of Advantage Finance and unfortunately had to leave CrediCar to take up that role.
In March 2019 we secured the appointment of Manjit Rana, an insurance innovator working with the top insurance companies globally to head up our insurance proposition. In March 2019 we were also featured in Motor Finance magazine.
In July 2019 we were accepted in the FCA’s Innovation Hub. The innovation hub was set up by the FCA to allow businesses with a genuine innovation to introduce innovative financial products and services to the market.
In August 2019 we were shortlisted by the Society of Motor manufacturers and Traders, Volvo and Toyota to pitch our proposition at the SMMT Future Mobility Event. Discussions followed with Volvo .
In January 2020 we secured the appointment of David Betteley as Chairman. David’s previous roles include Global Financial Services director of Jaguar Land Rover.
More recently, in June 2020 we secured the appointment as board advisor of a superstar lawyer, Jo Davis is a highly ranked compliance and regulatory lawyer with over 20 years experience in consumer/motor finance. More to come soon on this appointment!
CrediCar has been accepted into the sixth cohort of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Regulatory Sandbox.
The Regulatory Sandbox will allow CrediCar to test our innovative motor finance platform in the market, with real consumers, and will provide us access to regulatory expertise and a set of tools to facilitate testing.
CrediCar is pleased to have received it's first award at the Motor Finance Awards Europe 2020!
The awards were held remotely for the first time and we were unable to physically receive our award but we were crowned the winner of Digital Innovation of the Year!
